Dr. Rayel’s First aid tips for depression offers hope

Feb. 19, 2014 – After several months of anxious wait, Dr. Michael G. Rayel, author and psychiatrist, has finally released his latest book First Aid Tips for Depression: Overcoming depression in 4 simple steps. “We’re very excited. I believe that this book can help many individuals who suffer from depression and don’t know how to deal with it,” Dr. Rayel says. As the first book of Dr. Rayel’s Shrink series, it offers relevant information and practical first aid tips on dealing with depression. Depression is a serious and disabling medical illness. If unrecognized and untreated early, it becomes worse complicated by suicidality and disability. Others even develop psychosis as some believe that their neighbors are after them. “It’s very important to recognize depression early on. Otherwise, it may be too late. Complications may occur making it harder to treat. The need for early intervention can’t be overemphasized,” Dr. Rayel adds. Depression’s main symptom includes depressed mood or loss of interest to do routine daily activities. Just like most medical illnesses, depression is associated with physical symptoms, such as poor energy, loss of appetite, interrupted sleep, and poor concentration. Others develop feelings of hopelessness, helplessness, and worthlessness. In this book, Dr. Rayel reintroduces the CARE approach as early intervention for depression. This quick and practical approach consists of a four-step process that describes how to recognize depression, what you can do once it is recognized, what psychiatric disorders to consider as possible causes, and how you can deal with it. Dr. Rayel, a board certified psychiatrist, has written a number of books and educational games and products. First Aid Tips for Depression, now available on Amazon, is part of his Shrink series on psychiatric disorders and mental health issues. For details, visit www.drrayel.com.
